There's old-style glamour in the original chequered flooring, high ceilings and ornate chandeliers of this quiet Victorian villa, but recent refurbishment adds a modern twist: contemporary furnishings in rich colours. The work of local artists is showcased here, giving the hotel a distinctive feel. The 11 rooms vary in size and colour, from cosy and functional single rooms to almost palatial four-poster bed deluxe rooms, decorated in regal red. Even the more compact rooms feel uncluttered. Full English breakfast or vegetarian alternatives are taken in a traditional and homely dining room - Radio 2 plays in the background.

Additional Cancellation Policy Information: For cancellations made less than 3 days before arrival, or no-shows, the total amount of the reservation will be charged to your credit card by The Claremont. Minimum stay reservations cannot be partially cancelled - shortening of stay will result in the full balance being charged.

A room of large proportions, tastefully decorated, including an original Victorian fireplace, it provides the backdrop for a relaxing breakfast surrounded by the work of local artists - replaced every quarter, to prevent regular guests from becoming bored! Whether you crave an immaculately cooked and presented full English, a vegetarian option, or something a little fishy, you will enjoy your Claremont breakfast experience. For other meals, The Claremont is right in the middle of a city that has more restaurants per person than London, so there is a huge amount of choice within walking, bus, taxi or even Tuc Tuc distance!
